About Us

The mission of the American Cancer Society is to Save Lives, Celebrate Lives and Lead the Fight for a World without cancer.

The American Cancer Society is the nationwide, community-based, voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives, and diminishing suffering from cancer, through research, education, advocacy, and service.

We have one the nations largest Relay For Life events in Lacey Washington, Relay For Life of Thurston County each June and new in 2020 a Relay Fest in Yelm! We Celebrate survivors, remember those we have lost to cancer and fight back as a community through advocacy and as a team united.

We also have a Making Strides event and Real Men Wear Pink campaign that focus on raising money for research and free services, awareness and education about early detection, advances in treatment and walk together to show our support for the community and everyone that has been through a breast cancer journey.
