KGY Media Group operates local radio stations 96.9 KAYO-Country & 95.3 KGY-Olympia's Greatest Hits and provides a dynamic selection of Digital Advertising products to local advertisers. KGY was founded by Benedictine Monk, Father Sebastian Ruth, OSB at Saint Martin's Abbey / University campus and officially licensed "KGY" call-letters on April 4th, 1922. KGY is locally owned by the same family that purchased the station in 1939 and continues its tradition of community service to this day, providing local information and entertainment to Thurston County and the multi-county South Puget Sound region.
