Magic Mama is an Eco-edu-tainer who performs original music with a positive, earth-friendly message for all ages. Using a loop pedal, Magic Mama records and layers multiple, eclectic instruments live on stage. Known for her interactive use of "waste-struments" such as used charcoal water filters, empty chip bags, gardening tools and a drum made of skis, Magic Mama's performances are as unique as the songs themselves. A self-proclaimed genre-bender, Magic Mama's music is influenced by world rhythms, hip hop, funk, jazz and folk. Throughout each performance, the audience is invited to play along using provided hand-made, upcycled instruments. "Your mind is a powerful magician, whether you think you can, or you think you can't, either way, you're right!" Magic Mama invites you to think in new, fun and positive ways about the kind of difference you CAN make in the world.
This event is part of Summer Reading, a Timberland Regional Library districtwide program.
